Meet the team
Our senior team is comprised of a number of curious, committed and collaborative people with expertise spanning public policy, consumer engagement and outreach, regulation, law reform, psychology and social policy.
We recognise the importance of diversity in skills and understanding when tackling complex policy challenges, and this is a significant reason we often collaborate through our work – building shared understanding of benefits and risks of various approaches to consumer policy.
Erin Turner
Chief Executive Officer
Erin Turner is a consumer advocate that works with governments and regulators to make markets fairer for Australians.
She joined CPRC in March 2022, bringing experience in governance, policy, communications and research. Erin most recently led the advocacy and communications team at consumer group CHOICE and previously worked for not-for-profits including ACCAN and the CBAA.
Erin has a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Politics and Public Policy. Erin is currently a board member of the Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA) and the Chair of the Financial Rights Legal Centre.
Chandni Gupta
Deputy CEO and Digital Policy Director
Chandni leads CPRC’s research and policy program, while also leading CPRC’s research stream on protecting consumers in a digital world. Her work to date includes exploring the consumer shift from the analogue towards the digital economy, the impact of deceptive and manipulative online design on Australian consumers and the key gaps that currently exist in Australia’s consumer protections.
She joined CPRC is July 2021 bringing community engagement experience from various state and federal agencies such as the ACCC. She also brings a global perspective from experience at the United Nations, and leading global consumer policy development in product recall effectiveness at the OECD.
A tech geek earlier in her career, she’s passionate about digital products and markets that are safe, accessible, and meaningful for consumers. But also loves high quality analogue style paper and notebooks.
Chandni holds a Bachelor of Information Technology (Information Systems) and a Master of Business (specialising in public relations). Chandni is also an Executive Member of the Consumers’ Federations of Australia.

Marianne Campbell
Senior Research and Engagement Advisor
Marianne has worked in consumer and social sciences for close to two decades, having worked for the Cancer Council South Australia, Food Standards Australia New Zealand, and a leading national market research agency. Most recently, she ran a boutique social research and insights agency in Adelaide, working with government agencies, not-for-profit organisations, and businesses in Adelaide, Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra and North America. She regularly conducted research in areas of health, education, consumer advocacy, finance, insurance, food regulation, alcoholic beverage regulation, retail, real estate development and more
Marianne is an experienced quantitative and qualitative researcher, and is insistent in her ethical and rigorous approach used in the design and execution of any investigation or evaluation. She thoroughly enjoys undertaking research to understand consumer and stakeholder perspectives, guide effective communications, and ultimately shape policy and guide strategy.
As the Senior Research & Engagement Advisor at the CPRC, Marianne designs and undertakes comprehensive consumer research to inform and underpin policy recommendations that will protect and advocate for consumers.

Sarah Panckridge
Senior Research and Policy Advisor
Sarah joined CPRC in 2023. Fresh to the consumer policy space, Sarah brings social research experience from the justice and union sectors, specialising in qualitative research, policy analysis and advocacy. This experience has included writing submissions to Royal Commissions and inquiries, and sitting on ethics and legislative reform committees.
Sarah has a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) from Monash University and is currently completing a Master of Public and Social Policy at Macquarie University.
